GREAT WEDDING PROPOSALS

ROMANTIC

Birthday Proposal

Propose to your partner on your birthday. Pretend to be sick of opening presents and tell your partner to open one. Just make sure the one she opens is the box with the ring in it. By the time they have looked twice be waiting on one knee and pop the question.

Birthday Proposal 2

Same as above, but this time, invite both of your immediate families, and some friends over to celebrate her birthday.  After she opens all of the presents, kneel down and give her the most important present.  Ask her to spend the rest of her life with you. Make sure someone has a video to record here reaction.

Venice
Like Paris, Venice has a reputation as being a city for love. Why not propose on a gondola while traveling down the Grand Canal.  As an alternative, howabout a romantic dinner cruise on the river.

Movie Advertising
Most movie theaters have repeating advertising slides before the previews that can be purchased. Write her name up in lights, and be sure to get to the theater early enough

The First Place you Met

Return to the exact place where you and your girlfriend first met. Talk about some great moments you have shared, and then say something like "We've had an amazing journey together so far, and now I think we're ready to take the next step in that journey. I'm hoping you'll do me the honor of marrying me."

Your Favourite Restaurant

Restaurants are often a very popular place to pop the questions. Remember to call beforehand and get advice on the best way to propose by the staff– perhaps the proposal is written out on a plate, or perhaps the waiter delivers the ring along with your desert.

Skywriting

Skywriting is a romantic and old-fashioned way to propose. You can both have an intimate and private marriage proposal, while still proclaiming your love to the world. Another alternative - get a plane to fly a banner with "Will you marry me" over the romantic location of your choice.

Photo Album

Make up a ph0to album of photos with you and your partner.  On the last page put a photo of a couple at their wedding, but with photos of your faces.  Take her to her favourite restaurant and at the appropriate time, give her the album.  When she gets to the last page, kneel down and propose.  For a better effect, get someone to take a photo of you pretending to propose, and wearing the same clothes as you will wear to the restaurant.  Now use this photo as the last photo in the album.

A box, in a box, in a box..

When she comes in the door from work, have a pathway of tea light candles and rose petals waiting to lead her into the living room.  Place a huge wrapped box in the centre of the room with a note that says 'open me'.  Inside place another box, and inside that, another box.  Each box with their own note, either 'open me' or perhaps part of the proposal, or perhaps a romantic poem.  The boxes keep getting smaller and smaller, until of course, the smallest box holds the ring.  When she opens it, get down on one knee and propose.  You might make the last box a different colour, so you remember which is the last box, and be ready..

Message in a Bottle

Take a romantic stroll on a beach. Organise for someone to drop a bottle on the shore when your partner isn't looking. Get her to open it up where she'll find a message (your proposal) and a ring.

Jewelry Shop

Call a jewelry shop of your choice and arrange for them to open the store just for yourself and your partner. Get them to place all their rings (or at least the one's you can afford) out on a table. Take your girlfriend to the store and ask her to pick one.

Prince Charming

I once said I'd never marry a man unless he were a prince riding a white horse... It would be one of the memorable things that could happen! Find a white horse and have a bouquet of her favorite flowers, after arriving at her door, present her with flowers and bring out the ring and propose...ROMANTIC!

Friendly rendezvous

Use the home of your loved ones best friend and tell the friend to call her to come over and to say its very important. When she comes she will see a trail of hershey kisses and will lead to the dining room where a big hershey kiss will be in the middle of a candle lit dinner with a note saying "Now that i have kissed the ground that you have walked on, will you kiss me and be spend the rest of your life with me." Then you come out of no where with flowers in one hand and a wedding band on the other. Wearing a nice tux wouldn't be shabby either.

ADVENTURE

Field Writing
Mow the question "Will you Marry Me" into a field and then organise a romantic flight over the field and then once the question has been asked head off for a romantic meal somewhere special.
Sky Diving

Take your partner on a sky diving adventure. It's an untamed and intense emotional experience. After you pull your shoot, you'll both land trapped under you parachute. Ask her to help you out of your chute and when she lifts it, be on one knee holding a ring, asking for her hand in marriage.
Bungee Jumping

Take her bungee jumping. When your partner gets to the  the top reveal the letters "Will you marry me? Jump if you want to!" at the bottom.

HUMOUROUS

Trivial Pursuit

Play a game of trivial pursuit together. When it is your turn to ask a question, casually say "Your question is: Will you marry me?" rather than the question written on the card.

Scavenger Hunt

Make your partner work for it.  Send her on a scavenger hunt with clues and rewards until she finally finds you waiting with the ring.
Fortune Cookie

Take your partner to a Chinese restaurant for dinner. At the end of the meal arrange for the waiter to bring over a fortune cookie which you have secretly prepared with your own fortune inside predicting a marriage in the near future. While she's reading it get down on one knee with the ring.

Application for Marriage

Send your partner an application to be their spouse.  Write a cover letter explaining why you'd like to apply for the position and how you are qualified.  In your resume fill in your employment history with events from your relationship and the skills section with the things you do to make her happy.  Hopefully you'll get the jot!

Decoy Ring

Get one of those candy rings or a cheap plastic ring and tell your partner you've got something for her.  Prescent the ring to her and ask her to close her eyes, so you can put it on.  When you go to put the ring on her finger, switch it for the real engagement ring.  She'll certainly be surprised when she opens her eyes!

Locked Box

Take your partner to a nice, quiet, fancy restaurant.  Now this will take a little bit of effort on your part, but the result is well worth it.  Go to the restaurant a few days prior to your big dinner, and tell them what you are planning.  During the entrée while at dinner, give her present that is beautifully wrapped...when unwrapped, she will notice that is a tiny little "lock box"...make her sit through the entire dinner, and when the waiter comes to bring the desert to the table (which you have already planned out to be "Key Lime Pie), have the restaurant staff put the key that opens that "lock box" on the top of her desert...when she gets the box open, get down on a knee in front of her, and tell her how much she truly means to you...
